The Bat and Ball Inn Print E-mail

This newly restored late 17th century Inn was used to house the clubroom for members of Hambledon Cricket Club, in the great days of Hambledon cricket from around 1750. It is still noted for its cricket memorabilia including a new collection specifically relating to Richard Nyren landlord from 1760 to 1771 and one of the great men of English cricket. There is a large restaurant to the rear of the building, with a wide and comprehensive menu.  It is now a Fuller Smith & Turner House, offering bar food at lunchtimes and evenings.

Location: Next to Broadhalfpenny Down about 2 miles on the Clanfield Road from Hambledon village centre.
